STEMfire is a collaboration tool focused on facilitating volunteer engagements with students & educators. Volunteers and edcators provide profiles in STEMfire.  Educators request support for specific events and the STEMfire tool will share these events with all volunteers.  Educators can communicate directly with volunteers within the STEMfire tool and also the ability to search the volunteer database for specific domain experience.

If you have a creative idea of how to get a STEM professional involved, we can help match you with a well-qualified candidate. You just need to specify your targeted subjects of interest and the kind of job you'd like the volunteer to assist with, and we'll pair you up with local experts in the industry. You can also search our database directly for a professional who matches your exact needs.  Visit stemfire.com for more info.

NAF is a national (non-profit) network of education, business, and community leaders who work together to ensure high school students are college, career, and future ready.  NAF’s educational design ignites students’ passion for learning and gives businesses the opportunity to shape America’s future workforce by transforming the learning environment through industry-specific curricula and work-based learning experiences, including internships. Having authentic work experience, especially through a high quality internship, prior to graduation is critical to demonstrating college and career readiness.  I have attached a few one-pagers for your information.

Dallas-ISD will have 42 NAF Academies, each focusing on one of our 5 career themes: Engineering, Finance, Health Science, Hospitality/Tourism, and Information Technology.  Each academy has an advisory board made up of business professionals in the community who work with the academy leaders/teachers to bring 21st century skills and knowledge to the academy students through a set of work-based learning activities, such as:

  • Guest speakers in the classrooms
  • Worksite tours for small group of students
  • Career fair
  • One day job shadowing
  • Mock interviews
  • Informational interviews
  • Summer paid Internship for rising seniors

NAF is currently looking for partners from all industries to engage with students in all of their academies, in one or more of the areas listed above.  If you are interested please fill out this form >> https://form.jotform.com/61195160643150
