What is GLEDA?

Named after SHPE DFW's co-founders Alberto Gutierrez and Fernando Laclette, the Gutierrez-Laclette Engineering Development ApprenticeSHPE (GLEDA) offers entry-level engineers the opportunity to kick-start their careers.

Through a rotational program, this dynamic leadership development program will transform your leadership vision and approach to tackle complex issues common in the professional environment.  You’ll move out of your comfort zone and develop your own personal style of authentic leadership that enables you to coach others, nurture talent and lead change across organizations and multi-generational teams.  The curriculum over the course of one year, will grow your competencies in:
  • Self-motivation and time-management
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Leadership development
  • Professional communication

GLEDA is built upon an "ApprenticeSHPE" model, where you will also be paired with a SHPE DFW professional in the same discipline and/or industry to provide you with supplemental career guidance and feedback.   Graduates of the program are recognized for their demonstrated excellence & commitment in engineering leadership at the annual SHPE DFW Gala.
