Fernando A. Ceballos, P.E. currently is SHPE DFW Chapter President and previously served as the SHPE's Region 5 Vice-President, overseeing 7 states and roughly 3,000 members. He has served multiple roles in other non-profits, such as the American Society of Civil Engineers, The Real Estate Council and the Hispanic Scholarship Fund. Through his involvement, he has rolled out several marketing initiatives to drive more membership engagement, public awareness and restructuring of organizational culture. The programs he has helped start have helped hundreds gain valuable personal and professional skills for career advancement. Fernando was recently named one of the 2017 Coors Light Lideres, 2018 ASCE’s New Faces of Civil Engineering and featured in the 2018 Class of Dallas Weekly’s Millennials to Watch. As a Project Engineer for Pape-Dawson Engineers, he works on commercial land development projects throughout the state of Texas as a licensed professional engineer.  ​

Andrea, originally from Peru, joined the SHPE familia as a freshman at the University of Kansas (KU).  During college, she held several executive board positions in KU’s student chapter & attended 4 National Conferences which is how she was first hired as an intern for Goldman Sachs, her current employer.  After re-locating from New York City, she has been serving on the DFW Board since July 2015.

Andrea earned a B.S. in Computer Science, B.A. in Economics & B.A. in International Studies from KU & is a Vice President in the Consumer & Investment Management division at Goldman Sachs as the global lead for Payments & Settlements Operations Engineering in Marcus by Goldman Sachs.  She loves her #chefwifelife, spending time with her 2 bulldogs & enjoys international travel, Jayhawk basketball & table tennis.

The oldest sibling of 3, Evelin was the first in  her entire family to graduate from high school and later college. She received the Gates Millenium Scholarship and because of this, was able to pursue higher education. Once in Tulsa, Evelin realized there was a huge learning curve, both in and out of the classroom and struggled in this new setting. However, this first-generation student found a community on campus she could call familia. SHPE revamped her freshman year and she participated as a Freshman Representative. She later moved onto to be Vice President and President of the TU SHPE chapter. During her senior year, she had the opportunity to be Vice Regional Student Representative for Oklahoma and Arkansas for Region 5. She earned her B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering in May 2018. Evelin has a passion for giving back to the SHPE community after all the support she was offered. Her faith is a big part of her life and she says it’s the reason why she has made it this far. Evelin enjoys singing, reading, and is a huge fan of memes.

Jose Manuel Correa Jr. was born in a US Army hospital in Panama City, Panama and raised in several areas around the United States including San Diego, Detroit, and Fresno. Jose was first introduced to engineering at Clovis East High School’s Regional Occupational Program and ACE Mentor Program. From there, he pursued what became a passion by studying civil engineering at California State University, Fresno while under a music scholarship with Bulldog Beat, the premier band of Fresno State Athletics. While attending Fresno State, Jose served in leadership roles for several student organizations, including President of the Gamma Pi Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and President of the Bulldog Marching Band. After graduating with his Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering, Jose relocated to Dallas, TX to start his career with Kimley-Horn, one of the nation’s premier planning and design consulting firms who celebrates 12 years as one of Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For. There, Jose works on land development projects around Texas, including Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Austin, and San Antonio. In his off time, Jose enjoys frequenting Dallas’s music scene, hitting up happy hours, and visiting dog parks with his friends and family.

Biography
Andres, originally from Ecuador, graduated from Clemson Univesity as a Computer Engineer. He was involved with SHPE throughout undergrad holding various leadership roles including President. He also aided the Clemson Administration to empower Latinos on campus by serving as the Chairman for the first Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration.

After graduation, he joined the Leadership Development Program at Verizon as a full-time employee. Currently, he's working as a Mobile Developer for his third rotation with the program at the Irving, TX location. Andres loves to explore nature, travel, and go out dancing.​

Gabino Hernandez was born in Laredo, TX and moved throughout Texas until arriving in Del Rio, TX at age 5, moving to Pflugerville, TX at age 12. After originally choosing to study Civil Engineering for bridge design, he ended up focusing on Structural Analysis in the Aerospace industry. At UT Austin Gabino was an active member of the SHPE student chapter in addition to the minorities in engineering community organization, Pi Sigma Pi. Gabino has worked at L3 Technologies and lived in the DFW area since 2012. He enjoys going to movies at the Alamo Drafthouse and taking long walks with his wife and dog.

Solange was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico and moved to Pittsburgh, PA at the age of 11. She studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh and was an held various leadership roles including President. In her time, her SHPE Chapter received Blue Chip Awards and National Small Chapter of the Year. Additionally, Solange was an active member of Pitt EXCEL, a minority student organization dedicated to ensuring recruiting, retention and graduation of engineering undergraduates from groups of historically underrepresented in the field of engineering. 
After graduation in August 2018, Solange decided to pursue her love for aviation and joined American Airlines as an Aircraft Software Engineer and relocated to the DFW area. In her spare time, Solange loves to be active in her community, travel internationally with her family, and hike with her dog.

Internal Standing Committees oversee the non-membership related operations of the organization, including corporate and affiliate partnerships, fundraising strategy and sponsorship, IT infrastructure, including the website and online social networking programs, and marketing/public relations.

    The Brand & Partnerships Committee is responsible for working with local, regional and national corporations (called “Corporate Partners”), as well as other Latino-based or engineering-based professional organizations (called “Affiliates”) in the region to further the objectives of the Chapter. Additionally, it is responsible for marketing, promoting and raising awareness of SHPE DFW within the Chapter’s jurisdiction and maintaining the Chapter’s IT infrastructure, including the website and online social networking platforms.

    The Membership Engagement Committee is responsible for managing all member relationships, including existing members, previous members, new member and potential member relationships and organizing activities with local companies that employ large populations of Latino engineers and scientists to educate them about the benefits of becoming SHPE DFW members.

The singular goal of the committee is to encourage primary and secondary school students to pursue higher education (including undergraduate and postgraduate education, and vocational education and training) in STEM fields.

    ​Ad-Hoc Committees

    The goal of any Ad-Hoc Committee is to address specific issues, perform specific task or complete projects that can be completed over a defined period. All Ad-Hoc Committees will be dissolved after the completion of the task or project or achievement of the objective. The agenda and strategic objective for an ad-hoc committee can be defined by anyone on the Board, communicated through a committee plan and approved by simple majority.
